After reading the WIF fact sheet, I felt that there had been some fundamental steps that were being made to provide relief for women, children and infants. The only concern that I had was that there was a limit of 5 years for children to stop getting this aid. One other interesting fact that I found was on the section, " How many people does WIC serve?" starting off in 1974, 88,000 people participated in the program. In year 2004 , 7.9 people participated. One of the issues that we have discussed in class is the continuously growing gap between the middle and lower class. The increase that it depicted in the article is alarming. This is a clear example of how hard it has become for families to keep up within this face paced society.
